Security door opening — without destruction

A security door does its job: it resists — including against its own locked-out owner. Opening one is a discipline of its own: the techniques that open a standard door fail on an armoured block, and improvisation can wreck equipment worth €1,500 to €5,000. Our locksmiths are trained and tooled to open security doors without destruction in the vast majority of cases.

Why it is hard — and how we do it

Steel structure, multipoint lock anchored over the full height, certified high-security cylinder, armoured cylinder guards: each element calls for a specific answer. We start by identifying the exact model — brand (Fichet, Picard, Tordjman, Bricard…), lock type, cylinder generation — ideally on the phone, so the right tooling arrives. If the door is merely slammed, specific fine techniques usually open it quickly and cleanly. If it is locked, we attempt fine cylinder opening first; as a last resort we neutralise the cylinder only, by surgical drilling that spares the multipoint mechanism, the armour and the guards. The cylinder is then replaced by a model of the original level, with its property card — your door keeps its value and its certification.

Every intervention includes a full check: locking points, strikes, leaf clearance, cylinder and guards. On doors over ten years old this often reveals adjustments worth making — the guarantee your door will deliver its full resistance the day it matters. Keep your cylinder references and property card somewhere safe: they are what allow secure key copies without a full replacement.

FAQ

Will my door stay certified? Yes — with a clean opening, or a cylinder swapped for an equivalent model. A savagely drilled door loses its resistance and sometimes its insurance recognition; that is exactly what we avoid.

How long does it take? 15 minutes (slammed) to an hour (locked multipoint with a highly secure cylinder).
