5-point lock — the safety margin for your door

Five locking points spread over the door's full height: the 5-point lock is the recommended level whenever the door is tall, exposed or strategic — houses, ground floors, top floors reachable from roofs, business premises. It is also the level many insurers require above certain insured values.

Why five rather than three

Geometry. On a standard-height door, three well-spread points lock effectively; on a tall, wide or slightly flexible leaf, the gaps between points become the weak spots where a crowbar finds play. Five points — typically centre, two laterals, top and bottom — shrink every gap and stiffen the whole leaf: markedly higher, and above all uniform, resistance. It is the margin-of-safety choice we recommend for houses, where an intruder enjoys more time and privacy than in a building.

Configurations

Surface-mounted — the classic house renovation: fitted on the existing door. Mortice — integrated in thick leaves and door blocks. Cased — rods protected under a full-height aluminium cover. A2P grades 1 to 3 for the strictest policies, with cylinder and guard matched to the certified level. On every job the cylinder follows the lock's grade — emergency-function if you fear the key-left-inside scenario, card-protected to shut down uncontrolled copies.
