A security door is precision machinery: tens of kilos of steel, multiple locking points, compressed seals. Over the years that machinery drifts — the door settles imperceptibly, strikes misalign, the key starts to strain. Many owners live with it, lifting the door to lock "as usual"… until it no longer locks at all. Adjustment is a short, inexpensive job that restores your armoured door's original crisp lock-up — and adds years to its life.

The warning signs

The key strains on the last millimetres of the turn. You must lift, pull or push the door to double-lock. One or more points no longer engage — three clicks instead of five. The door rubs on floor or frame; the seals whistle; landing noise increases. Each symptom, caught early, is an adjustment; ignored, it grinds linkage, strikes and hinges — turning a €150 tune-up into a €600 repair.

What our visit includes

A complete diagnosis — door plumb, hinge condition and play, each strike's alignment with its bolt, seal compression, cylinder and guard. Then the adjustment itself: hinge take-up (most recent doors have 3D-adjustable hinges), strike-by-strike realignment, compression tuning, full lubrication. Older doors may need wear parts — hinges, strikes, guide pins — replaced. The non-negotiable goal: a complete lock-up, all points engaged, on one smooth turn of the key, without touching the door.

Protecting your investment

An armoured door represents €1,500 to €5,000 — and its certification assumes nominal operation: a door that locks badly no longer delivers the resistance you paid for, and can raise questions with your insurer after a claim. We recommend a check every two years (yearly for heavily used doors), twenty minutes that keep the door at its original grade.
