First moves, in the right order

If you suspect someone may still be inside, do not enter — call the police (17 in France). File a police report: the receipt conditions your insurance payout. Photograph the damage from several angles before any repair. Declare the claim to your insurer within the contractual deadline (usually 2–5 working days). Replace — and often, upgrade

Like-for-like replacement is fastest and cheapest. But a break-in is also a brutal free audit of your weak points: if the intruder beat your lock in two minutes, refitting the same model invites a second visit. So we always propose — without pressure — the upgrade option: a high-security card cylinder, an armoured cylinder guard, anti-pry strips, or a certified A2P multipoint lock, often required by insurers above a certain insured value. Not every forced lock is a burglary: glue in the keyway, snapped toothpicks, pliers-twisted cylinders — neighbourhood malice and rental disputes produce their share. The fix is similar (cleaning or cylinder replacement), but document repeated incidents with photos and police reports; we can provide a written condition report on request.

FAQ

Can I wait a few days? We advise against it: a forced lock closes badly or not at all, and a visited home is statistically more exposed in the following weeks. We come the same day, at night if needed.

Does my insurer impose a lock grade? Many French policies require A2P certification above certain insured values — check your policy; we fit the required level and hand over the certificate.
